When you live in a breathtaking place like Colorado, the mountains become the natural backdrop for almost every wedding inspiration shoot. This day we wanted to show brides that by brining in thoughtful design elements, you can create a feeling of being transported to another place and time. With a modern take on an English Garden in mind, we set out to scout the perfect Tudor home in Denver. The backyard of this private residence was the ideal place to set up all our classic elements. I forgot I was in Colorado for a minute. The MEGA talent MICHELE HART PHOTOGRAPHY | BLUEBIRD PRODUCTIONS | PREMA STYLE | LANA’S SHOP | MEAGAN JOY CAKES | LIZ WEGRZYN | LITTLE WHITE DRESS. I had the great fortune of traveling to Nicaragua recently with my partner in crime ASHLEY SAWTELLE It was technically a “work-cation” but it didn’t feel much like work when I was foraging tropical blooms and navigating through local markets to find the freshest flowers for my designs. To say that this trip changed me is an understatement. The people, culture and landscape are vibrant, open and joyous.  As someone always seeking new experiences, never traveling to the same place twice – Nicaragua inspired me in a special way and I will return! MAGNOLIA ROUGE created a gorgeous feature HERE.

“Speak only that which is true, kind, helpful and necessary.” We were inspired by the meaning of the model Sataya’s name which lead to the lovely story behind this shoot.  We had so much talent collaborating on this one, including ASHLEY SAWTELLE and LAUREL & ROSE.  From the perfect light on the rocks to the nostalgic feeling of the reception, it was flawless.  If every day could be like this one, I would be satisfied for an eternity.  Read more of Satya’s story on MAGNOLIA ROUGE HERE.

How sweet are Danica and Cyrus?!  They braved the cold up at Red Rocks and got some stunning photos as a result by Ashley Sawtelle.  They were so smitten with each other that they barely noticed the weather.  January is a great time for peonies and I took full advantage for this bouquet.  I added in layers of greens and a little bit of texture with the berries for interest.  They will be married this summer at a private ranch near Ouray, Colorado.  I can’t wait to see more from this gorgeous, loving couple.  Until then, please enjoy the full STYLE ME PRETTY feature here.

One of the things I look forward to the most during the holidays is making a centerpiece to welcome my guests.  I decided to put together a little DIY  with Ashley Sawtelle so that you can make one too.  For this particular centerpiece I chose a great vase and a neutral color palette that is sure to go well in any room.  I used a mixture of bought and foraged flowers and foliage – the leaves are a great color this time of year and really makes the arrangement pop.  The centerpiece that you make can be all your own, you don’t have to copy mine piece by piece.  Use what you have on hand and chose colors and textures that make you nostalgic for your holiday memories.  See the step by step directions on WEDDING SPARROW  here.
