In what may be my favorite love story of all my couples, Kelly and Houston’s wedding was nothing short of breathtaking. They met when Kelly went to have her ski boots fitted by Houston and it begins in the most beautiful Aspen Meadow with details that will not be soon forgotten by all who were there. Captured by Ashley Sawtelle, planning and design by Gold Leaf Event Design + Productions, Eclectic Hive and Yonder Floral + Design House to name a few. Brides did an an amazing feature on their day.

I am a strong believer in less is more – especially in the chaotic times that we live in. This season I am approaching event design with minimalism. Tons of greens, a limited palate of blooms and delicate texture. With a focus on luxurious linens and and handcrafted tableware.  I wanted to showcase this sensibility in a styled shoot with a like minded team. Photographs by Lucky Malone, paper by Brylo Wed, hair and makeup by LIZ WERGZYN, and The Fond Life. See the whole feature on Magnolia Rouge.

As soon as I met Los Angeles based couple Tony + Sarah I knew that they would be incredible to collaborate with. With guests flying in from all over the world, they wanted to have a memorable weekend at beautiful BRUSH CREEK RANCH in Sarasota, Wyoming. I love working at the ranch because there are infinite possibilities for creating a custom event. The color story was also derived from the ranch – dusty lavender, sage, wheat and whites played off the season. Captured beautifully by ASHLEY SAWTELLE planned by the tireless TABLE 6 PRODUCTIONS with custom lighting from DESIGN WORKS, linen from LA TAVOLA and makeup by DANICA SEVERANCE. Here are a few details but see more from STYLE ME PRETTY.

Inspired by the meticulous restoration of Denver’s Union Station, we chose classic, understated elements for the decor, glassware, flatware, etc to compliment the chic environment. Mixed metals, marble, pewter, glass and classic attire are timeless, yet modern. The romantic feeling that a train station evokes was the perfect backdrop for this elopement. Monique Lhuillier gown provided by Anna Be. Photographs by Ashley Sawtelle, hair and makeup by Liz Wegrzyn, Meghan Joy made this masterpiece of a cake and Chelsea Petaja created the hand lettered place cards. As I sit and reflect on another incredible wedding season, I can vividly recall this day at Crooked Willow Farms as now seen on Style Me Pretty. Erin and Matthew walked into my studio and I instantly felt connected to them. They are quirky and cool and had a serious sense of personal style. Their wedding day was no different. From her insane gown, ear cuff, dark painted nails and his slim suit – their vibe was abundant. Sometimes it can be daunting when clients have a very clear vision and a sense of design, but they were so willing to let me run with it, totally trusting me in the process. They also had the help of the talented women at A Vintage Affair  pulling together the details as only they can. Cool couple + great vendors = this kind of a day. I was lucky to be a small part of it. Makeup by the incomparable Liz Wergzyn and beautiful photography by Connie Whitlock.
